Before you know it kids will be out of school for spring break and like most parents you will be looking for something to keep them occupied. Why not get crafty with your kids and have them make their own handmade soap? This will give them a chance to play with color, scent, texture and work on a bit of math while they are at it. But make no mistake this is a fun activity and once they get started they may not want to stop.

We are offering local soap making classes for kids over spring break. But if you are too far away, you can follow the steps right at PBS Kids.

Even if you don’t want to take a class, pick up the supplies at a local craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby and get to making some soap with your kids over spring break.

You know what they say “if they make it, they are more likely to use it” so not only will they pick up a new skill in soap making they may also be more apt to wash their hands. That’s a win-win.

You can read the step by step tutorial at PBS Kids.
